What is the difference between HMB (CaHMB) and BetaTOR (HMB free acid)?

HMB (CaHMB) is the mono-hydrated calcium salt combined with HMB to create a powder while BetaTOR (HMB free acid) is HMB in its free acid gel/liquid form. BetaTOR is more rapidly absorbed so you get a higher peak and sustained concentration in the blood.

What is BetaTOR

Supplements

Having proper nutrition, training, and supplementation is key when optimizing your training results.  With strong research and proven results, the choice is clear.  BetaTOR can help you maximize your training results.

BetaTOR is the pure, free acid form of HMB (beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate).  BetaTOR is naturally produced in our bodies during the metabolism of the essential amino acid leucine, which is naturally found in foods such as beef, fish, soybeans, and alfalfa.

Scientists have studied and shown the positive effects of CaHMB on increasing strength, lean mass, and decreasing muscle damage and improving recovery after rigorous exercise for decades.  This easily deliverable form of HMB has been the mainstay of HMB used in supplements.  New developments in manufacturing allowed the scientists to theorize that HMB as BetaTOR could be a very effective method of delivery for HMB.

In 2009, scientists started studying the kinetics of this delivery form, and in 2011 published their results showing faster absorption, increased blood levels of HMB, and increased clearance to tissues.  This revolutionary study on the new delivery form of HMB has now resulted in several clinical studies showing safety and efficacy.   The results from using BetaTOR attest to what the scientists thought, this new delivery form is superior to the CaHMB form.
